2/9 eBird Challenge Update

Winter Storm Nemo has taken its toll on eBirding too. Being socked in and without electricity, I imagine that a lot of eBirders are unable to report checklists. As of noon on 2/9, we have a grand total of 4 complete checklists. At this rate, the second week of February will be the lowest week ever, so I encourage everyone to try to do some checklists. However, if you’re able to look out your backyard window, I encourage you to do a five minute complete checklist if you can!

Winter storms like this are a great time to watch feeders, recording feeder activity during a storm is important data! Often, birds who were feeding in the wild nearby have lost their food source and will be attracted to feeders more easily. Sometimes oddballs will show up, but most often you’ll see heavy activity from the residents.

Nemo puts a damper on RI eBird challenge. Let’s get some more checklists after the storm to make up for it! http://t.co/99t9qaAP
